Europe is one of the seven continents on earth although, in this case, is a more of a cultural and political distinction than a geographic one. Europe, home to the ancient Greeks and Romans, is the origin of western civilization as we know it.
It is from here that Columbus set sail to open America and the New World,
 and is the source of almost all of our Western language, literature, art, and law.
