are here in the theatre at Ephesus, site to one of the

  The Aya Sofia Mosque, Istanbul

This is the Ayasofia  (aka Aya Sofia, Hagia Sophia, Church of Holy Wisdom) in Istanbul, one of the dominant museums, formerly a mosque and an orthodox church. Rebuilt by Emperor Justinian around 532 CE, and famous for its massive dome, it was the largest cathedral in the world for almost 1000 years. Click here to see its replica in Tarpon Springs, Florida, USA.

This is the Galata Tower which overlooks the Golden Horn. The tower was built in 800 and has been in continuous use since.

No trip to Turkey would be complete without a real hamam, a  "Turkish Bath". My experience took about three hours and was at times terrifying, painful, and exciting.

Raibow over the Golden Horn, Istanbul I took this picture from my hotel room, a rainbow starting at the Golden Horn, Istanbul. There are many who value rainbows as an auspicious sign.
