No venture to India could be complete without a visit
to
the famous Taj Mahal, one of India's many
UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
A vision of immortal love
and
a lyric in luminous
marble. An unearthly assemblage, its
color
changes with the
season of the day: warm yellow
in the rising sun, bright in the afternoon,
red in the
setting sun,
and ice-blue in the light of the moon.
The Taj Mahal stands
as a testimony to a timeless
love story between Emperor
Shah Jahan and his
beloved Queen Mumtaz. After her
death in 1631,
thousands
of workers and master craftsmen
labored for 22 years to create this unique
masterpiece.
