Singapore is an independent city-state that is located at the
tip of the Malay Peninsular in South East Asia.
It was once a part of the Malay Confederation, but split from that to
independence in 1965.
It is a very high-tech, highly developed multi-ethnic culture, and home to
the busiest shipping port in the world.
